Terms of trade

These terms apply when Butyros Limited, trading as Fox & Fable Distribution, sells goods to a business customer. They are for businesses only, not for people buying for their own use. Your own terms do not apply unless we agree to them in writing.

1. Trade accounts

We may ask for more details about your business, and we may turn down an application without giving a reason. Minimum orders and payment terms are agreed when we open your account.

2. Orders

An order is accepted only when we confirm it in writing, which includes by email. We may decline an order, or send it in more than one delivery. You can change or cancel an order only before we dispatch it, and only if we agree.

3. Prices

Prices are in pounds sterling and do not include VAT, which we add at the rate in force on the date of the invoice. The price you pay is the one in our order confirmation. Recommended retail prices are the maker's and are for guidance only.

4. Payment

Unless we have agreed credit terms with you in writing, we ask for payment before we dispatch. Where we have agreed credit terms, each invoice is due by the date shown on it. If an invoice is paid late, we may charge interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and we may hold further deliveries until your account is up to date.

5. Delivery

We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom. Delivery dates are estimates. The goods are your responsibility once they are delivered. Please check each delivery when it arrives and note any visible damage on the driver's paperwork. Tell us about anything damaged, missing or wrong as soon as you can, and before you sell or use the goods.

6. Ownership

Goods stay ours until we have been paid for them in full. If payment is overdue, we may ask for unsold goods back.

7. Product safety

Goods are supplied with the maker's markings, age warnings and instructions. Please do not remove or cover them, and sell the goods in their original packaging. If a maker recalls a product or issues a safety warning, we will tell you, and we ask you to help, for example by taking the product off sale.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise, we are not liable for lost profit or any indirect loss, and our total liability for an order is limited to the price of the goods in it.

10. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. If that happens, we will tell you and try to keep the delay short.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The version on this page on the day you place an order applies to that order. Last updated October 2026.
